The Department for Infrastructure was not required to accept a complainant’s request to review her Covid relief application as it was made outside the time period allowed.

A complainant claimed that failures by the Department for the Economy resulted in his partner sustaining a significant financial loss.

A business owner said he was unfairly denied a Covid business support grant.  We found that the man’s application was assessed properly, but criticised the Department for the Economy for producing guidance that was not clear.

The Northern Ireland Public Services Ombudsman has issued a finding of maladministration against the former Department of Environment for its failure to monitor the numbers of late flights into and out of George Best Belfast City Airport.
