A woman complained that her father’s health deteriorated because he was not looked after properly in his care home. Our investigation found failings in his care and treatment, as well as a string of serious record keeping failures by the home.
The Ombudsman has found that a care home provided a patient with the right level of the drug Quetiapine, and addressed a complainant’s concerns about the diet the patient received in the home.
The Driver & Vehicle Agency failed to manage a complainant's medical assessment in a timely manner, thereby increasing the risk that his licence would expire while his renewal was being processed. The Ombudsman also found that the DVA failed to communicate with the Occupational Health Service to ensure the application was treated as a priority.
